For many of our mission workers, crisis isn’t something they simply read about in the news. It can become their daily reality.
A family may suddenly find itself caught in civil unrest. War may break out nearby. A medical emergency may require urgent evacuation. Or a worker may be struggling with the emotional and spiritual weight of serving in a difficult, isolated place.
That’s where Pioneers’ Member Care team comes in.
'I wasn't alone'
Tanya*, who serves in the Middle East, knows this firsthand.
On 28 February, she woke to the sound of a nearby bomb strike. The walls of her house shook violently. She immediately contacted Member Care. Her link person responded with prayer, reassurance and practical options — including emergency funds, counselling and retreat support if she needed to leave. Throughout the uncertainty, her member care link person remained a steady presence, gently reminding Tanya that she wasn’t alone and help was ready when she needed it.
